Schumannianthus Gagnep.

Description:
     Tall plants with compound leaf cluster on top of canelike stem. Inflorescence a synflorescence of narrowly spiciform florescences. Cymules markedly dolichoblastic, interphyll absent, bracteoles 2 per cymule, small, glandular. Corolla tube equalling the lobes or shorter; staminal tube inconspicuous; outer staminodes 2, petaloid; ovary with 3 ovulate locules. Fruit indehiscent, seeds exarillate. Geographical Distribution:
     SE Asia from Malaysia eastwards to the New Hebrides.

Taxonomic Diversity:
     Comprises about three species.
